This is the last of my backlog packages. This shipment was being put together when AmiAmi was upgrading their site, so somehow Mami, a late December release, was put off until January’s shipment which probably saved me a few bucks.

August 2011 AmiAmi Figure Shipment
It’s been quite a while since I’ve made a figure shipment post; last August, to be exact. Since that post, I haven’t even touched the few shipments that have come in, mainly since my Magic hobby has been dominating my figure one. I finally had some free time to take some photos last month, so this will be the first of three posts that will help me catch up with my backlog. I made these posts in a rush, so excuse any sloppiness.

I think I made out pretty good on this one. 7 mythics (2 ‘walkers) and 33 rares is a pretty good rate. I’m assuming the flip card distribution ups the rare+mythic rate for everyone, but I have to believe this is one of the better hauls; only missing that damn Snapcaster! Outside of standard, I got a lot of good cards for EDH too: Grimgrin zombie deck here I come!

Cracked open a box of M12. As expected of a core set it was not so exciting (Time Reversal: really Wizards?). Not sure if I will be buying anymore boxes, but the temptation of the new planeswalkers is strong.

Lots of good stuff came in this Right Stuf shipment. Particularly looking forward to Bamboo Blade and Higurashi. Seems like the only worthwhile U.S. publishers nowadays are Viz and Yen Press; it’s kinda sad actually.

June AmiAmi Shipment
This month’s AmiAmi shipment is only one figure, but it’s a good one. It looks as if I’m going to be able to make it through the summer without spending too much money.

Nendoroid Koukuu Jiei-tan
Jiei-tan is one of the few things I bought at Anime Expo 2011. I had originally planned on buying the Nendoroid Miku support version from the Mikunopolis booth, but instead bought Jiei-tan from the Kid Nemo booth when I found their price to be most agreeable. The allure of the gatling gun (an M61 Vulcan I believe) was too great to resist. I guess Japan will miss out on my ~1000 yen; sorry!
